Tofu Keema Recipe - Indian Style Cuisine

YOU WILL NEED:

1 Cake Drained Tofu - Diced or Crumbled
1 Yellow Onion - Chopped
1 Green Bell Pepper - Chopped
1 Roma Tomato - Chopped
3-4 Flakes Fresh Garlic - Chopped Finely
1/2" Fresh Ginger - Chopped Finely
Green Chillies (Optional - To Taste) - Chopped Finely
1/4 Bunch Fresh Cilantro - Chopped
1/2 Teaspoon Cumin Powder (Jeera)
1/4 Teaspoon Coriander Powder (Dhaniya)
1/4 Teaspoon Tumeric Powder (Haldi)
Salt - To taste

METHOD:

1. Add oil to pan. Add ginger, garlic and green chillies. Saute for 1-2 minutes.
2. Add onions - saute until golden.
3. Add tomatoes and spices: cumin powder, salt, coriander powder and tumeric powder. Saute for about 5-6 minutes or until tomatoes are cooked.
4. Add drained and crumbled tofu to pan and mix in with the spices or masala until the water dries out a little - about 5-6 minutes. If necessary, lightly mash the tofu until the pieces are small.
5. Add fresh chopped cilantro - mix in and turn off gas.
6. Serve hot with basmati rice or naan bread.

Made this last night, great quick recipe. Even my kids liked it! I had mashed the tofu really finely so they did not know they were eating tofu. They thought it was egg keema haha.
